How to Request Carrier Contracting in the Compass Agent Portal

Warning
There is a generally a blackout period for Carrier Transfers from September through January. This timeframe can vary depending on the carrier. During those months carrier transfers can be requested but they won't be processed until the blackout period lifts.

00:04: This process guides you through filling out the carrier

00:06: contracting request form.

00:09: Click Contracting in the Compass Agent Portal to begin the carrier contracting request

00:13: process.

00:15: Click Carrier Contracting.

00:18: Click the red Request Appointments button to start a new contracting appointment request.

00:24: Select your resident state, even if you are licensed in multiple states.

00:29: Choose one or multiple Contracting types.

00:32: New agent initial Contracting, select this.

00:35: If you have never had an appointment with carriers, choose, this, if you are going to be adding

00:39: new carriers, you've not had before,

00:42: Transfer Appointments: Select if you currently have appointments or

00:46: have ever had an appointment with carriers.

00:49: Add States & Carriers: Select

00:51: if you are looking to add additional states to your current carrier appointments.

00:56: Select the box next to the line(s) of business you will be writing.

00:59: The Preferred Ancillary Supplement carriers will be selected (if your resident

01:03: state is Utah). Go through and select any carrier that you need an

01:08: initial contract with.

01:10: The Preferred Health carriers will be selected if your resident state is Utah).

01:14: Go through and select any carrier that you need an initial contract with.

01:19: For the remaining Health carriers go through and select any carrier that you need initial

01:23: contract with. Please note specific carriers, only

01:27: write in certain States, those are noted in parentheses after the carrier

01:31: name.

01:33: These Medicare carriers are through Berwick.

01:35: There is a limit of 3 carriers requests at a time. Once those carriers

01:39: have been approved, you can return and request additional carriers.

01:44: These Medicare carriers are not through Berwick and not limited to 3 MAX requests

01:49: Life, carriers are just in time requests when you submit an application, you

01:54: will receive the Contracting request for that carrier.

01:57: Magellan is the hub for life where you can quote and submit applications.

02:01: Insta, brain will give an immediate result if an individual will be approved.

02:07: Group carrier contracting is requested when an application is submitted.

02:10: The links will take you to useful areas

02:14: Select next.

02:16: Click the circle

02:17: Type your signature

02:19: Read through the Life Legal questions

02:24: Select Yes if you have a Letter of Explanation that needs submitted.

02:28: These statements apply to the use of the in-house life team for turn policies.

02:33: If you are not sure if you are going to use the team select, yes.

02:37: Click submit to contracting.

02:39: You have successfully submitted a carrier Contracting request by completing all

02:43: required fields and acknowledging the terms.

02:46: Your request will be reviewed and you will receive next steps from carriers, and Contracting

02:50: in your compass, email, or your primary email.

02:52: If a business For further.

Go to Contracting.


Select Carrier.


You will select Request Appointments and that will pull up the Contracting Request form.
